there is no other word for it …
he simply “appeared”, in this darkness
by lighting the proverbial cigarette
and wearing a hat, only
not a “fedora” (! gasp !) …
the hat, was a “Metropolitan” !…
also, not wearing your typical “trench coat”, nor
the “old fashioned havelock”, even …
it was a “Utility ‘Fatigue’ made of leather” jacket …!
some improvement in “imagination”, perhaps ?
the man spoke : “my name is, Mr. E …”
… and perhaps, not …
the one thing that was clear
at this point, was that,

our “protagonist”,
had just met
his … “antagonist” …
